Helical Piers

Strategic Fence is proud to be installers of “Heli-Pile” helical piles. Helical piles are a galvanized high strength steel shaft with one or more helical bearing plates attached to the shaft. The helical plates are pitched like a screw and are rotary installed into the ground to support commercial, residential, and industrial structures.

They can also be used as tie backs and in environmentally sensitive areas. We can supply a variety of different brackets (load transfer device) for any application.

Boardwalks

We are well known for our boardwalks on rec paths and work in environmentally sensitive areas. Helical piers are considered “zero” impact since there is no excavation or concrete needed for the foundation. We will be happy to install helical piers only or complete the whole boardwalk & railing system.

Foundation Corrections and New Construction

Settling foundations can be stabilized with helical piles by using a steel foundation underpinning bracket as the load transfer device. This bracket can also be used with a hydraulic jack to raise or lower the foundation, then mechanically lock the bracket permanently in place and remove the hydraulic jack.

New construction foundations using helical piers are excellent for additions or where soft soil, expansive clays or backfill conditions exist. The pier would be installed through the problem soils until the pier is into a solid soil suitable for the foundation. The load transfer device usually has rebar for the continued construction

Tie Backs

Tie backs are used for shoring on construction sites with limited working space. Tie backs can also be used to stabilize failing retaining walls built with wood or concrete.

Installation Types

Depending on the accessibility of the job site and the application, we have a variety of different sized hydraulic rotary drive heads that can be mounted on anything from hand carried equipment powered by remote hydraulic units to skid steers to large excavators.
